There’s a version of your writing life where you have the time to sink into your work, follow a thread all the way through, and finally make meaningful progress on the story that keeps calling you.

The Storyheart Studio Retreat is a small, intentionally curated gathering for women who are working on a writing project—a novel, memoir, poetry collection, or screenplay—and are ready to move it forward with focus and support.

You’ll step out of your daily rhythms and into a space built for deep writing: stretches of quiet, thoughtful guidance when you need it, and a group of women who understand what it means to have a story burning inside them.

You'll have the space to think clearly about your project and leave with words on the page, a plan for finishing and pitching your story, and a renewed connection to the part of you that knows how to tell it.

FOR WOMEN WHO ARE CARRYING A WRITING PROJECT ALONE—WITHOUT THE TIME, STRUCTURE, OR CREATIVE COMMUNITY TO HELP IT TAKE SHAPE:

The Setting

In the spring, we gather for the weekend at Springer Farms in Midway, Utah—a clean, beautiful space surrounded by quiet and mountain air, just steps away from the sought-after local shops including Folklore Bookshop, The Ballerina Farm store, Haven Haus Co, Flower Bar Co, Dainty Pear Co, and antique shops.

Part of the weekend includes a guest author and a private writing event at Folklore Bookshop, a beloved local bookstore just steps from our accommodations.

In the fall, we gather for 4 days at a private 30-acre estate in wine country Virginia, where a personal chef will prepare our meals and you'll sleep in luxury accommodations. A 1:1 story coaching session with me and a professional author headshot is included in your ticket.

The retreat includes an excursion to the historic, charming village of Middleburg where we will explore the local antique shops and Middleburg Books.

This retreat is for women who:

• Are working on (or circling) a writing project they care deeply about

• Feel the pull to write but struggle to find focused, uninterrupted time

• Want meaningful progress—not just vague inspiration

• Are open to both independent writing time and collaborative support

All levels and genres are welcome.

“Kim’s retreat really helped me step into my identity as a writer. I loved all the dedicated writing time away from life’s daily distractions. It was such a treat to be surrounded by other writers, honing their craft and willing to share and learn from one another. I left feeling excited to write the book I’ve been dreaming of for years!”

“I learned so much about the writing and creative processes, new methods and tools to get unstuck, left with a great cohort of writing friends, and I actually wrote my first draft! There was such a wealth of insight and confidence gained from this getaway- I’d do it again in a heartbeat! The setting was perfect, schedule and food were incredible, and the people and information was top notch. From aspirational writer to actual writer in a weekend. I’m still in shock, in a good way. I’m a writer!”
